The Care Farm

... operates during term time for young people disengaged with mainstream education; those excluded or at risk of exclusion from school, through negative behaviour patterns or inability to connect.

A therapeutic intervention that encourages responsibilty through the caring of animals in a safe and controlled environment.

Helping to look after horses, miniature ponies, goats, sheep, chickens and rabbits can engage hard to reach kids, particularly those with mental health, behavioural and emotional challenges.

Given their own 'jobs' to do builds confidence in their abilities and pride in their achievements, often our learners return to mainstream with new found resilence and a 'can do' attitude.

We offer an alternative form of learning, such as good animal husbandry and welfare, wildlife conservation, environmental responsibilty and rural skills, that is both experiential and fun.

We include EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING - our HorsePower Course
